Our Services
Demolition

The Company’s demolition operations provide partial and/or total structural and interior dismantling services to a broad range of industrial, institutional, governmental, and commercial clients. Structures demolished include refineries, mines, mills, manufacturing plants, utility installations, office buildings, hotels, bridges, towers, incinerators, emission stacks and a wide array of additional types of structures.

The sophistication of the demolition process is a function of the size and complexity of the project. Larger more complex projects can require extensive pre-project process engineering and specialized operation procedures, machinery, and equipment. As a result, Delsan-AIM project managers, estimators, engineers and site personnel have a technical understanding of structural design, project scheduling and worker health and safety. Our professionals have years of experience in turning complex and environmentally sensitive plant demolition projects into a smooth flowing, professionally managed process.

Abatement Services

Delsan-AIM has extensive experience with the removal of all types of asbestos containing materials (ACM) from a variety of facilities. Our environmental building abatement division has carried out the removal and disposal of asbestos-containing and non-asbestos containing materials in institutional facilities such as schools, hospitals, long-term disability facilities, airport facilities, hotels, high-rises, and commercial and industrial facilities.

In addition, Delsan-AIM’s environmental building abatement division has performed lead paint removal services in facilities as diverse as a secondary smelting operation, an active automotive manufacturing plant and an educational institution. Other services provided include contaminated dust abatement, biological (mould and fungi) decontamination, PCB (solid and liquid) and liquid hazardous waste removal.

Our environmental building abatement division includes a team of experienced employees and an extensive, well maintained equipment inventory. Our approach is professional with a keen commitment to health and safety, environmental laws and regulations, and our clients’ objectives. This division has successfully completed over 1,000 projects with single contract values exceeding $34 million.

Delsan-AIM is proud of its health and safety track record and works closely with our health and safety professionals, management, employees, the client and the Workmen Compensation Board, in order to maintain our record throughout all of our projects.

Site Remediation

Before designing a sound, cost-effective remedial action plan, we study the source and nature of soil and groundwater contamination, and site character; as well as available corrective options. Cost, time and remedial action parameters of each project are always kept in mind.

Members of the Delsan-AIM team have broad experience in the environmental field, ranging from project planning and design, to technology evaluation and development and on-site project execution. We also design proper risk management, health and safety, and quality control programs to meet each project’s specific needs.

Our qualified personnel supplied with our access to state of the art equipment and technologies allow us where possible, to offer our clients solid, cost-effective solutions that reduce or eliminate the need to dispose of contaminates. Result: we minimize or remove future client liability.

Dismantling

Delsan-AIM has an experienced team with a wide range of skills for the dismantling of industrial equipment. We also have specialized equipment in order to meet the needs of our customers. Our experience allows us to achieve efficiently and successfully difficult dismantling work, while respecting our policy in health and safety and minimizing the impact on the environment. Our team of experts allows us to provide unparalleled advice and effective execution of our dismantling services in refineries, pulp and paper mills and other sensitive sites.

Asset Recovery

Investment recovery is the identification, dismantling, removal and sale of an industrial facility, mine or refinery facilities and/or component parts. In certain circumstances, Delsan-AIM may make a payment to the owner if the value of equipment recovered at the plant exceeds the costs to decommission a site. Success in decommissioning is frequently enhanced by investment recovery. Delsan-AIM is part of an international network of investment recovery resellers who pool inventory lists. Delsan-AIM also markets direct to industry specific clients around the world.

At Delsan-AIM, we believe that our investment recovery expertise provides us with a cost advantage by significantly enhancing our ability to provide competitive pricing for decommissioning services.

Demolition

Delsan-AIM is very conscious of the impact of its activities on the environment. The waste generated from the activities on our sites, known as CRD waste (construction, renovation and demolition), is sent to a Government accredited waste sorting facility. The sorting/recycling facility is affiliated with several companies in order to allow for the materials to be reused or recycled. This practice allows us to divert and reduce the volume of waste that is sent out to the landfill. Sorted and recycled materials include: wood, cardboard, gypsum sheets, plastic, concrete, brick and asphalt.

In addition, we can offer on-site waste sorting, management and documentation to comply with projects working towards LEED certification. Recovered metals are sent to American Iron & Metal LP (AIM) to be recycled. All hazardous waste and waste contaminated with asbestos are transported to an accredited center in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.

Delsan-AIM also participates in a environmental management program for oil filters, used oil, empty containers contaminated with oil, lubricant type aerosol cans and used antifreeze that are generated by our activities.
